To be ‘Black’ And be ‘White’
    was to be,
       'Halfbreed',
        'Halfcast', '
        Metis',
        'Mongrel', '
        ‘oburoni' ,
        'Oyinbo' Or "other"

Part 'this',         Part 'that',

Ordinary lives were now a daily act of protest.
Disobedience to either or identity.
A fuck u to binaries

Translating two cultures within one skin,
A skin of palimpsestuous space, with depth, Mass, and layering.
To talk as different identities,
changing daily to the cultural activities,
thinking of identities as a performance(s).
Not reduced to fit a singular narrative,
Here, individuals’ perceptions and self-awareness are negotiated.
Built from the non-binary self, Territory, Performance, People, and identities.

A condition of hybridity
    always fleeting, always alive.
